I don’t see it n your formulary. Do you have Claritin in stock instead?” you suspect that the medical student has the wrong drug name. What medication might the student be looking for? What indication would make you think Zantac is not intended drug?

zantac is for indigestion heartburn and claritin is for allergies completely different ailments so the meds won’t work interchangeably

they are probably looking for zyrtec which is an allergy medication like claritin.

Review by Grant N, December 28, 2009

he probably asking for zyretic 10mg because zyretic and claritin are the same class of drug and zantec and claritin are not.

He meant Zyrtec.

I’m going with Zyrtec also. BUt I’d make the med student figure out what they are really after since they are obviously confused. (It’s mean but how else do they learn?).

For what it’s worth nursing homes do not have medical students in them nor do they have pharmacies.
