Is Generic Finasteride sold in web sites real and has the same effects as the brand names such as Propecia?

Please help me understand this. I can’t get a Propecia without a doctor’s prescription but can purchase the same medicine online, what is going on?
DennisMD, I am 28. Losing my hair since I was 21. Using Minixodiol since 2002 and can’t see any difference, but still uses it any way. I first got few hairs when i first started using it, but as years gone by it started to do nothing.
